Three Years Ago This Week: A Symbol of a Failed Presidency

imrs

by Christopher W. Holton

Can there be anything more symbolic of the Obama administration’s failure to combat the global Jihad than Boko Haram’s kidnapping of hundreds of Christian school girls in Nigeria three years ago? Especially given the fact that Boko Haram subsequently became an Islamic State affiliate.

That’s right, one side-effect of the Obama administration allowing the Islamic State to form and metastasize was the joining of forces with the organization that then-first lady Michelle Obama so infamously “attacked” with her hashtag counterterrorism program.

This week marks the third anniversary of the mass abduction…

The BringBackOurGirls (BBOG) group on Friday began its Global Week of Action at the Unity Fountain, Abuja.

There was a low turnout of its members at the opening session of the scheduled seven day of activities to mark three years of the abduction of the Chibok schoolgirls.

About 195 of the girls are still believed to be in the custody of the Boko Haram.

Two Years Ago Today: Boko Haram Seizes 276 Christian Schoolgirls

by Christopher W. Holton

imrs

Two years ago today the savage barbarians of Boko Haram, an Islamic jihadist organization, kidnapped 276 Christian schoolgirls in Nigeria.

At the time, this was but the latest example of Boko Haram’s reign of terror. Up to that point, Boko Haram specifically targeted and slaughtered Christians–especially Christian worshippers on Christian Holy Days, such as Christmas, Palm Sunday and Easter.

In fact, Boko Haram is said to be directly responsible for more deaths than the Islamic State (ISIS).

But it wasn’t until they kidnapped these hundreds of schoolgirls that the world was finally awoken to the danger that Boko Haram posed. And, in fact, since then, Boko Haram has officially joined the Islamic State, meaning that the caliphate now controls territory in Iraq, Syria, Libya and Nigeria and has branches and affiliates among some 35 jihadist organizations in as many as 19 nations stretching from the Philippines to west Africa, in addition to supporters and sympathizers across western Europe and in North America.

Despite the fact that the world was awoken to the danger from Boko Haram two years ago today, the world’s response has been feeble, mainly because the so-called leader of the Free World, Barack Obama, doesn’t view Jihad as a global threat, but rather a collection of local, unrelated conflicts in which he doesn’t want to get involved.

Nothing better symbolizes the Obama administration’s cavalier recalcitrance to the threat from Jihad than Michelle Obama’s hashtag Twitter response to the kidnapping of the 276 Christian schoolgirls in Nigeria.

The fact is, it’s so easy to ignore something like this happening in Africa, because no one really cares about Africa all that much. That isn’t just a shame, it’s criminally negligent because the facts point to Boko Haram being part of the global Jihadist movement, not just a local gang of thugs.

today-nigeria-140512-video2

Can there be any doubt that were these 276 American, French, British, or even Saudi, schoolgirls, someone would be raining hot lead and hell down on Boko Haram by now?

But we all know that isn’t going to happen because our leaders refuse to recognize that we are in a global war and that the Jihadists have one goal in mind: a worldwide caliphate ruling by Shariah.

Hillary-Clinton-Boko-Haram

The U.S. has been especially slow to recognize the threat posed by Boko Haram in particular. We can thank Hillary Clinton for that. Despite dishonest attempts at revisionist history by Soros-funded Socialist front groups like Think Progress to spin the details, then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton blocked efforts to have Boko Haram designated as a Foreign Terrorist Organization for more than two years.

She did so because someone had convinced her that designating Boko Haram as terrorists might anger the group to the point that they might target Americans. If that reminds you of appeasement in Europe in the 1930s, that’s because it IS just like appeasement in Europe in the 1930s.

In Hillary Clinton’s world, if the Jihadists want to slaughter thousands of Christians in churches in Africa every Christmas and Easter, that’s okay, as long as they don’t attack us.

I guess Black Lives Really Don’t Matter to Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

Jihad: It’s NOT all about us…it’s about Islamic doctrine

boko-haram

by Christopher W. Holton

There is a narrative in the West, promoted particularly by Muslim Brotherhood operatives and their allies, that violent Jihad is primarily the result of things that Westerners have done.

Among the excuses that apologists for Islamic atrocities give are:

• Islamophobia in the West and the USA in particular.

• US support for “oppressive” regimes in the Islamic world.

• US support for Israel.

• The presence of US troops in “Muslim lands.”

Linked below are news articles about two recent events that debunk the myth that Jihad is merely something that is performed in response to things we do or say.

The first is a report from India that there is a threat of terrorist attack at New Year’s from the Jihadist organization Lashkar e Taiba. Readers may recall that Lashkar e Taiba carried out a savage attack on Mumbai, India back in 2008, killing hundreds of innocent civilians.

Next we have two reports about the annual attack on Christians in Nigeria carried out by Boko Haram (which is now part of the Islamic State).

Christmas Day Massacre: Boko Haram Kills 16, Including Children

Boko Haram kills more than 50 people in north-eastern Nigeria in two-day wave of attacks

…Boko Haram countered with a series of devastating attacks on towns in the country’s north-east, claiming dozens of fatalities in a bloody killing spree that began on Christmas Day.

There is simply no way to blame the threat of Jihad in India or savage Christmas day terrorist attacks on Christians in Nigeria on mythical “Islamophobia” or US foreign policy or even Israel.

The fact is, Jihad is based in Islamic doctrine–doctrine that is 1300 years old. Jihadists base their actions on Islamic scripture and not on videos produced in the West or speeches given by US presidential candidates.

It’s about time we learned this lesson in America.

US Army Issues New Shoulder Patch for Campaign Against “ISIL”

By Christopher Holton

The US Army has issued a new shoulder patch for the slightly more than 3,000 troops who President Obama has decided he can spare to fight the world’s most dangerous Jihadist entity, the Islamic State, which the US federal government still insists on referring to as “ISIL,” despite the fact that there are now Jihadi groups from West Africa to the Philippines that have pledged allegiance to the Islamic State.

Nothing illustrates better the institutional denial that we are saddled with as a nation in our fight to save Western civilization than our federal counter terror bureaucracy’s slavish attitude toward outmoded views on the threat from Jihad…except maybe the new shoulder patch that is the subject of this post. Here it is:

Now compare the US Army’s shoulder patch to those of several known, prominent Jihadist groups…and prepare to be repulsed…

Nigeria: Another Forgotten–Or Ignored–Jihad

cfce0231cb31690e510f6a706700b15e

There is an unfortunate tendency in the West to downplay the threat from Jihad. This is especially true when the acts of Jihad occur in the Third World and especially when the victims are non-white and poor.

This week has provided us with prime examples of this in Nigeria, where Boko Haram has continued its Jihadist terror with horrific attacks which have been little more than an afterthought in US and other Western media. For instance, on one of the news aggregator services we frequently check, Newsnow.co.uk, the terrorist attacks in Nigeria don’t even rate a mention among the 31 “Hot Topics” that are listed. Violence in Central Africa makes the list, where Christians have been fighting back aggressively against Jihad. But Nigeria, where Boko Haram has made a national sport of killing non-Muslims, is not considered important or “hot.”

http://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/

So what exactly happened in Nigeria this week that the media are ignoring?

On Monday, the 14th of April, two bombs set off by Boko Haram at a busy commuter bus station in the capital of Abuja killed 72 and wounded 133 civilians. As many as 40 buses were destroyed in the attack. It is actually a miracle that more people were not killed.

http://news.yahoo.com/photos/blast-in-nigerian-capital-1397479416-slideshow/

This is the kind of attack that, had it happened in Europe or the USA, would have absolutely dominated the news for days afterwards. But because it happened in Nigeria, no one is really paying all that much attention. Given that Easter approaches this Sunday, there is the frightening proposition that more attacks could occur. That’s exactly what happened two years ago on Easter, as we reported here:

https://terrortrendsbulletin.com/2012/04/08/boko-haram-islamikaze-car-bomb-kills-38-christians-outside-easter-service-in-kaduna-nigeria/

Unfortunately, Boko Haram’s Jihadist attacks did not end this week with the bombing of the bus station.

On Tuesday, Boko Haram Jihadist terrorists, posing as soldiers, kidnapped 129 young girls from a school in Chibok, Nigeria. Late Thursday, a military spokesman claimed that most of the girls had been freed, but it now appears that this is not the case. 115 girls are still missing, heading into the Easter weekend during which the Jihadists have demonstrated a tendency to commit atrocities.

The name Boko Haram roughly translates as “Western education is forbidden” and the terrorist group has repeatedly attacked schools and universities over the years. It is also possible that one or both of the attacks were the work of Ansaru, an offshoot of Boko Haram, though given that Ansaru members have been known to return to Boko Haram, it isn’t entirely clear that the two organizations operate completely independently of one another. Ansaru is also known as Vanguard for the Protection of Muslims in Black Lands.

ansaru_2484654b

72 killed, 133 wounded, 129 young schoolgirls kidnapped, all since Monday…had this happened in Europe or the US, it would have stopped all activity. But it’s Africa, so it’s hardly worth mentioning…except we have seen from Afghanistan and Sudan what happens when you let Jihadists metastasize in the Third World…

Curious Words from a Muslim Cleric in Nigeria

A Muslim cleric has urged “Nigerians to live in peace and harmony.”

Sheikh Nura Khalid, the Chief Imam of Legislators’ Quarter’s Mosque, made the call in a telephone interview.

In our view, this call amounts to more meaningless platitudes that we see and hear around the world from Islamic clerics.

We noticed that Khalid made a general statement that Nigerians “should not allow disgruntled elements who find pleasure in destruction to destroy our nation in the name of religion.”

What he did NOT say is perhaps more significant than what he did say. His words sound soothing to the untrained ear, but notice that he did not come out and condemn Boko Haram, the Nigerian Jihadist terrorist organization that has been responsible for repeated bloody attacks on Christian churches, especially on Christian holy days.

One of the journalists should have asked the Sheikh to specifically condemn Boko Haram. The Sheikh’s response would have been interesting. Had he done so, it would have been much more significant than general statements about peace, harmony and violence.

Even better would have been a question asking the Sheikh to discredit violent Jihad. THAT would have been interesting indeed!

Horrible: The French Family Held Hostage By Boko Haram

boko_haram_logo

This story is absolutely heartbreaking.

A French family has been taken hostage by the Jihadist terrorist group Boko Haram.

Being held by Jihadists would be bad enough, but to see your own children held and no doubt terrified would be unbearable. This is yet another stark illustration that the Jihadist enemies we face are in fact subhuman. And they must be stopped. The world must be rid of this scourge, no matter how long it takes, or else there will never be even a glimmer of hope for peace.

Four children are among the family taken hostage in the African nation of Cameroon, but multiple news sources are speculating that the hostages have already been moved into Nigeria.

Some news reports claim that Al Qaeda is responsible and there is no doubt that there is some level of communication, if not outright cooperation, between Boko Haram and Al Qaeda, but they are two separate terrorist organizations.

The family were taken on Tuesday by gunmen on motorbikes. Following the abduction, the French government said it believes the couple, their children aged five, eight, 10 and 12, and an uncle were taken across the border into Nigeria.

The family lives in the Cameroonian capital, Yaounde, where the father worked for the French gas group Suez.

They had been returning from a visit to Waza National Park when they were kidnapped.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2284346/Video-kidnapped-French-family-Cameroon-appears-YouTube.html

Islamic jihad and dawah operations continue to spread throughout the African continent, which is clearly the central theater in the global Jihadist insurgency at this point. There are active operations across the dark continent.

Probably the bloodiest Jihadist organization in Africa is Boko Haram, who have made a practice of slaughtering Christian worshippers in Nigeria on Christian holy days, such as Christmas and Easter.

We can only pray for the poor family in the video below. Pray for their safe return to freedom and hope that justice will come down on their captors swiftly and decisively.
