ANOTHER COVER UP? More on the Arizona Jihadi, Abdullatif Aldosary

Earlier this week we posted about Abdullatif Aldosary, an Iraqi Muslim refugee who set off an IED at a Social Security office in Arizona…

https://terrortrendsbulletin.com/2012/12/05/for-crying-out-loud-the-arizona-jihadi-the-media-and-our-bureaucratized-counterterrorism-apparatus-doesnt-want-you-to-know-about/

As we reported then, an FBI source told investigative reporter Patrick Poole at PJMedia that Aldosary would not be charged with terrorism, due to “political sensitivities.”

Now Poole has uncovered more about Aldosary which reveals yet another cover up by the Obama administration to avoid having to admit that we have been hit again by a Jihadist terrorist.

According to Poole, the DHS had previously concluded that Aldosary had been involved in terrorist “activities,” and a search of his home turned up $20,000 in cash (Aldosary was an only partially employed day laborer), an AK47, and bomb making materials…

“Move along, nothing to see here.”

OUTRAGEOUS: Jihadi Threatens to Blow Up Synagogues, Sentenced to Only 10 Years

Ahmed Ferhani (left)

Ahmed Ferhani (left)

Once again we have proof that fighting Jihad as a criminal justice issue simply does not work. There are two reasons for this:

1. Jihad is not crime, Jihad means to war against non-Muslims and is etymologically derived from the word mujahada, signifying warfare to establish the religion. We treat Jihadists like criminals. They wage war against us.

2. There are some in our criminal justice system who don’t even take the “crime” of Jihad seriously.

Case in point: Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Michael Obus.

Obus just sentenced Ahmed Ferhani to just 10 years for plotting to blow up synagogues in the New York area.

This was the outcome of a plea deal negotiated by Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance, Jr.  Ironically, Cyrus Vance, Jr. is the son of Cyrus Vance, who was Secretary of State under Jimmy Carter and resigned in protest when Carter authorized the mission to attempt to free American hostages held in Tehran, Iran back in 1980.

Vance, Jr. is a little bit better than Judge Obus; he at least asked for a 14-year sentence. Obus handed down the 10-year sentence with the comment that Ferhani would almost certainly be deported upon release. This is bad policy. Ferhani could have been sentenced to 32 years in prison. Sentencing him to less than a third of that is a disservice to the entire country. Passing down a light sentence based on the expectation that our bureaucratized counterterrorism apparatus is going to take care of matters in the end is a recipe for failure.

Committed Jihadists are not good candidates for rehabilitation. Just look at the recidivism rates of former Gitmo prisoners: Upwards of 20% rejoin violent Jihad.

Laws involving terrorism need to be strengthened. Jihadis need to be locked away for good. Is there a viable argument against life sentences for plotting to commit terrorist attacks that could result in the deaths of scores of innocent lives?

FOR CRYING OUT LOUD: The Arizona Jihadi the Media and Our Bureaucratized Counterterrorism Apparatus Doesn’t Want You to Know About

Aldosary

Abdullatif Aldosary is a terrorist. He may be a “lone wolf” terrorist, unassociated with any known Jihadist group, but he is a Jihadist terrorist nonetheless.

But our government won’t call him a terrorist.

Abdullatif Aldosary BOMBED a Social Security office in Case Grande, Arizona less than a week ago. He is a Muslim Iraqi “refugee.”

50ba3b4fcf5b5.image

But our government will not charge him with terrorism.

This is an outrage and a symptom of the utter denial to which we have fallen victim in America due to politics and political correctness.

The report of Aldosary’s crime first came to our attention two days ago on PJ Media and BreitBart:

http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2012/12/02/iraqi-refugee-arrested-for-bombing-arizona-social-security-office-with-ied-media-silence-ensues/

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2012/12/02/Iraqi-Refugee-Bombs-AZ-Social-Security-Office-MSM-Remains-Silent

Note that the media then suppressed Aldosary’s identity, just as they have in previous cases in which Muslims have committed acts of violence, including and especially the Fort Hood terrorist attack.

Note also that the infamously irresponsible DailyKos almost immediately started speculating that the bombing was the work of a “right wing” terrorist of some sort. Again, this is reminiscent of the shameful Mayor Michael Bloomberg airing the same kind of wide-of-the-mark speculation when a Muslim Jihadi tried to set off a VBIED in Times Square a few years back.

Worst of all though–BY FAR THE WORST OF ALL–is the report from Patrick Poole on PJMedia that the FBI office in Phoenix was treating the incident internally as a terrorism investigation, but they weren’t going to charge Aldosary with terrorism. Instead, he will be charged with simple arson and explosives charges. Why? Because of the political sensitivities involved.

In other words, an Iraqi Muslim, with a history of run-ins with DHS (see the different mugshot below indicating multiple arrests), bombs a US government office and he gets charges the same as some moron who tries to blow up his own property to collect insurance?

50ba3bffbbdd2.image

Ah yes, this is just a street crime. That’s what they said when Abdulhakim Mohammed killed Private Andy Long outside an Arkansas Army recruiting office. Despite the fact that the Arkansas attack came after Mohammed attended a terrorist training camp in Yemen, he was not charged by the Feds with terrorism:

https://terrortrendsbulletin.com/2011/04/13/605/

https://terrortrendsbulletin.com/2012/08/08/south-louisiana-showing-of-losing-our-sons/

And let us not forget that the Fort Hood massacre has been classified as “workplace violence” and not terrorism, despite the fact that Major Nidal Hasan was in touch with Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula leader Anwar Al Awlaki and yelled out “Allah u Akhbar” as he was murdering and wounding his fellow soldiers.

https://terrortrendsbulletin.com/2009/11/13/fort-hood-was-it-terrorism-the-wrong-question-its-all-jihad/

This type of denial erodes our national will and we have to suspect that there are some either in government service or advising those in government service who want just that; they want to erode our national will so that we remain deaf, dumb and blind to the threat of Jihad. Because when the Department of Justice tells us outrageous lies about attacks carried out on US soil like those perpetrated by Nidal Hasan, Abdulhakim Mohammed and Abdullatif Aldosary, they are shaping the national psyche and public opinion. AND THIS NATIONAL SECURITY FRAUD MUST STOP. The Department of Justice is committing professional malpractice in the way in which it handles these Jihadist terrorist attacks.

More Jihadis in Florida

We are a little late in commenting on this story, but it is significant enough to warrant even a belated post.

Two Pakistani brothers were arrested in Florida on Friday on terrorism and material support of terrorism charges. The Feds went out of their way to point out that these two Pakis were NOT arrested as a result of a sting operation. This is probably because armchair intelligence agents in the hard Leftist, Islamist and libertarian communities are fond of calling every arrest of a potential Jihadi in a sting operation “entrapment,” even though just about every case has resulted in a conviction and no one has successfully defended themselves in such a case by claiming entrapment.

Still, the fact that this was not a sting operation does hold some significance because it indicates that these two (Raees Alam Qazi, 20 and Sheheryar Alam Qazi, 30) had some sort of plot going on and it was discovered by law enforcement and/or intelligence officials after it was conceived, i.e. it was not dreamt up by a FBI agent.

There are no details as to what the plot involved as of yet, but federal prosecutors say the men, both U.S. citizens, provided money, housing, communications equipment and transportation as part of a conspiracy and that the brothers’ goal was “to use a weapon of mass destruction (explosives) against persons and property within the United States”.

We don’t like the use of the term “weapon of mass destruction” here. The US criminal justice system bastardized the term several years ago and it causes a great deal of confusion. A “weapon of mass destruction” should not refer to conventional explosives, but only to chemical, biological or radiological weapons. Nevertheless, the term “weapon of mass destruction” is commonplace in cases that involve items as lowly as a single hand grenade.

Note also another sore spot in this case: “If convicted, each could face a potential sentence of 15 years in prison on the charge of conspiring to provide material support to terrorists.”

Fifteen years for someone who is providing support to an organization like Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, the Taliban, HAMAS, Lashkar e Taiba, etc. is ridiculously light. Such sentences should be lengthened substantially. A Jihadi who takes part in this activity and spends 15 years or less in prison is not likely to be rehabilitated in the process. In fact, there is ample evidence to indicate that prisons are fertile recruiting grounds for Jihad. When one considers that the man in charge of the Muslim chaplains for the federal prison system is now in federal prison himself for financing Al Qaeda (Abdurahman Alamoudi), it should give us little comfort that a committed Jihadi will spend 15 years in federal prison. We should have no expectation that these types of people will be peaceful and tolerant when they are released.

Fortunately, in this case, the conspiracy to blow someone or something up carries a life sentence, which is much more appropriate…

The fact that these two Jihadis were arrested in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the same place where some of the 9/11 hijackers spent time, is probably just a coincidence. Nevertheless, Florida can only be described as a hotbed of Jihadi activity in the US given the numerous cases that have surfaced there over the past decade or so.

Perhaps most important is the fact that the FBI is not releasing any details about this case because the investigation is ongoing. This suggests that other plotters could still be at large here in the US or abroad. It could even be that these two were but two players in a much larger plot. We just don’t know, but this requires careful watching.

Some little known facts about the views of Muslims in America

This information makes up the introductory portion of the briefing that I have been delivering around the country for the past 3 years. It is important given the mounting evidence of Muslim Brotherhood infiltration in the West, and the US in particular.

On 22 May 2007, the Pew Research Center, certainly not a “conservative” organization, published a report on a survey that they conducted of Muslims in America. The name of that report was “Muslims in America: Middle Class and Mostly Mainstream.”

Pew rolled it out as a celebration of Muslims in America. The media jumped on the bandwagon and the report was received with delight.

But there are aspects of the report which deserve more scrutiny and which Pew and the media essentially ignored in their spin during the release.

First a few background highlights:

• Pew reported that there were 2.35 million Muslims in America, including 1.4 million over the age of 18 (the target group of the survey).

This is important because the Muslim Brotherhood organizations, such as CAIR and ISNA, frequently claim that there are 5-6 million Muslims in America. President Obama parroted the bogus 5-6 million figure from the Muslim Brotherhood in his 2009 Cairo speech.

• 30% of the 1.4 million (420,000) were said to be between 18 and 29.

This is important because this is the demographic most likely to be involved in jihadist activity.

Most importantly, there were two particularly relevant questions that were buried deep in the Pew survey that Pew chose not to address or highlight in its release and rollout of the report:

Relevant Question Number 1: Can Suicide Bombing of Civilian Targets to Defend Islam be Justified?

A: Often/Sometimes: 8%

A: Rarely: 5%

A: Don’t Know/Refuse to Answer: 9%

A: Never: 78%

In other words, AT LEAST 13% of American Muslims believed that suicide bombings of civilian targets was justified at least in some circumstances.

182,000 Muslims in America over the age of 18 believed that Islamikaze bombings of civilian targets was justified at least in some circumstances.

Here is another important point: This same question was asked of Muslims under the age of 30 (the age group most associated with jihadist activity):

A: Often/Sometimes: 15%

A: Rarely: 11%

A: Don’t know/refuse to answer: 5%?

A: Never: 69%

26% or 109,200 Muslims in America between 18 and 29 believed that Islamikaze bombings of civilian targets was justified at least in some circumstances.

Relevant Question Number 2: What is your view of Al Qaeda?

A: Favorable: 5%

A: Somewhat Unfavorable: 10%

A: Don’t Know/Refuse to Answer: 27%

A: Very Unfavorable: 58%

Same questions to Muslims under 30:

A: Favorable: 7%

A: Somewhat Unfavorable: 16%

A: Don’t Know/Refuse to Answer: 19%

A: Very Unfavorable: 58%

70,000 Muslims in America admitted to having a favorable view of Al Qaeda.

29,400 Muslims in America between the ages of 18 and 29 admitted to having a favorable view of Al Qaeda.

It is particularly noteworthy that younger Muslims in America appear to be more predisposed to violent Jihad than older Muslims based upon the answers to these two questions.

Note that this survey was conducted of Muslims in America, not Muslims in Benghazi, Ramadi, Fallujah, Gaza, Cairo, Sana’a, Tehran, Kandahar, or Islamabad. The tens of thousands of Muslims that harbor these views all live in America. These numbers are staggering and frightening.

Three Hezbollah Members Arrested in Mexico

For years we have seen persistent reports of Hezbollah operating in Latin America and on the US-Mexico border. For years the political Left has scoffed at this evidence, probably because the presence of a lethal Jihadist terrorist organization on America’s southern border might actually mean that we need to do something to secure our porous borders.

The latest evidence of Hezbollah’s operations in Mexico comes from the breaking news that three members of the terrorist organization–including a US citizen–have been arrested in Mexico and turned over the US authorities…

FINALLY: Delinquent US State Department Declares Haqqani Network a Terrorist Organization

From our barely better late than never category, the US State Department last week finally got round to officially declaring the Haqqani Network a Foreign Terrorist Organization.

The US military has been pushing for this designation for years, but the limp wrists at Foggy Bottom have resisted because they didn’t want to offend our “allies” in Pakistan.

Despite what you may have seen/heard in the media, this is a largely symbolic designation at this point anyway. The State Department claims that this designation puts all sorts of economic, financial and diplomatic pressure down on the organization by making those who support it risk US sanctions. But if you look at how other terrorist organizations have managed to continue to exist under this same designation, the unmistakable conclusion that you come to is that the impact is limited. The Muslims around the world who train, supply and fund these types of organizations don’t care much about US designations.

The only scenario in which these types of designations can be helpful is when they are imposed very quickly after the organization is uncovered. In the case of the Haqqani Network, this offshoot of the Taliban was and is supported by the Pakistani ISI (their intelligence service) and the State Department was reluctant to offend the ISI, despite the fact that the ISI is complicit in killing American GIs…

…Incidentally, the Taliban has NEVER been designated a terrorist organization. After all, it would be “awkward” for Vice President Biden to be giving speeches declaring that the Taliban are “not our enemies” when they are on the terrorism list. It would also make Secretary of State Hillary Clinton look bad as she is keen on negotiating with the Taliban…

Email holton@centerforsecuritypolicy.org with questions

The Muslim Brotherhood, the Clinton State Department, John McCain and Today’s Lax Security Mindset

By Christopher Holton

There was a time when it was considered necessary and proper to be concerned about possible foreign influences in US government and military service. Way back in 1981 when I first filled out forms as part of the process for joining the US military (it was a DOD form, I don’t remember the number) I had to answer a specific question regarding travel. The question asked if I had traveled to any of a list of nations after certain dates (all communist bloc countries) with a date listed by each nation (the date that each country had turned communist).

Anyone who joined the military in the Cold War era probably remembers this form and this question. If the answer to the question for any of the nations involved was “yes” you had to provide a complete explanation for the reason for the trip, when it took place, etc. Having never visited countries like Cuba, North Korea, East Germany, the Soviet Union, etc., I can’t say that I know what the process would have been had I answered yes.

But the point is, if you wanted to join the US military and you had even visited any communist countries, the Department of Defense wanted to know about it.

Fast forward to today. We are locked in a mortal struggle against a force not unlike communism. In fact, it has been called “communism with a god.” That force is Islam as defined by the Shariah doctrine which forms the basis for it. There are certain countries and organizations that are prominent in the enemy threat doctrine. Yet, to my knowledge, today we have no similar safeguards in place to what the DOD had during the Cold War years to check on the influence of foreign powers on American institutions. For instance, are any questions ever raised about travel to Iran, Syria or Sudan, three countries on the State Department’s list of terrorist sponsoring nations? For that matter, what about travel to Yemen, like Carlos Bledsoe did where he was indoctrinated to wage jihad in the USA by Anwar al-Alwaki? What about travel to the tribal areas of Pakistan, where the Times Square bomber traveled and received training? For that matter, how about travel to Saudi Arabia? After all, the Salafi strain of Islam that gave birth to Al Qaeda has its seat there and most of Al Qaeda’s cannon fodder seems to come from Saudi Arabia.

Then there is the whole present question of the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood is best described as the forefather of all modern Jihadist terrorist groups. Its apologists and proponents claim that the Muslim Brotherhood has completely eschewed violence, yet the available evidence proves otherwise. HAMAS was founded as a Muslim Brotherhood wing and has been designated a foreign terrorist organization by the US State Department. HAMAS is one of the deadliest Jihadist organizations in the world, having carried out numerous Islamikaze bombings. And make no mistake, HAMAS has a large presence inside the USA.

There seems to have developed in recent years some romanticized view of the Muslim Brotherhood among certain naive political factions in the USA–and not just Democrats. Rather than being viewed as an organization in the political wing of a global insurgency, the Muslim Brotherhood is unfortunately being embraced in the West and the US. Senator John McCain, for instance, seems to have become smitten with the Muslim Brotherhood after meeting with them for a few hours in Egypt. But no one has embraced the Muslim Brotherhood quite like the Obama administration. The Obama administration has established close ties to Muslim Brotherhood organizations in the US and met with them at length and frequently. All indications are that the Muslim Brotherhood plays a prominent role in the Obama administration. Organizations like CAIR (the Council on American Islamic Relations) and ISNA (the Islamic Society of North America) were named unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation trial, the largest terrorism financing conviction in US history. (Attorney General Holder declined to prosecute these organizations when he came to office, despite intentions by others in the Justice Department to do so.) In the Holy Land Foundation trial, in documented evidence that was stipulated to by the defense, both CAIR and ISNA were identified as Muslim Brotherhood organizations.

And yes, a high-level member of the Clinton staff at the State Department, Huma Abedin, comes from a prominent Muslim Brotherhood family. Her father, her brother and her mother all have prominent positions in the Muslim Brotherhood apparatus. If during the Cold War such a person came from a family with extensive ties to the Communist Party of Romania or East Germany, there would have been ample reason to conduct a security investigation. But in today’s politically correct surreal world of Washington DC “go along to get along” culture, it seems that no questions can be raised. This is the same culture that looked the other way while a known Jihadist, Major Nidal Hassan, hid right out in the open in the US Army spouting Islamic Jihad doctrine, culminating in the terrible terrorist attack at Fort Hood.

Well, the Center for Security Policy DID raise questions. The Center produced a 10-part video course on the Muslim Brotherhood in America that every American should watch: http://www.muslimbrotherhoodinamerica.com. Among others members of Congress, Michelle Bachmann has written a letter to inspectors general of key Washington departments inquiring as to Muslim Brotherhood influence in Washington’s halls of power. For her trouble, the likes of Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Anderson Cooper and a host of Leftist media from the Huffington Post to the Los Angeles Times and MSNBC have attacked Rep. Bachmann.

They have all done so in a total vacuum of knowledge about the Muslim Brotherhood, the Holy Land Foundation trial and American fronts like CAIR and ISNA.

The Center has published a rebuttal to this shrill, emotional criticism: http://www.centerforsecuritypolicy.org/p19041.xml

This all stems from a complete failure of our leadership to put America on a war footing in the wake of 9/11. Our leaders have failed to identify the enemy. They have failed to try to understand the enemy threat doctrine. In fact they have denied that an enemy threat doctrine even exists. As a result of this culture, an imperialist, nefarious organization with long-standing ties to terrorism and with goals identical to those of Al Qaeda itself, namely the Muslim Brotherhood, is treated as a friend, rather than as a foe. If you even suggest that the Muslim Brotherhood might be an enemy of America, Hillary Clinton, John McCain and Anderson Cooper will attack you as if you are a wild-eyed bomb-thrower. We are indeed through the looking glass.
